TOPIC: switch hub

Good day po! Ask ko lang po kung ano magandang bilhin na SWITCH HUB, ROUTER at CABLE?
15 po ang units ko kasama na server (ASUS A68H series, AMD A8, 4 GB kingston RAM).
Traditional set up lang po ako. . Yun pong SWITCH HUB, ROUTER at CABLE na pwede rin na pang diskless set up kasi kung makaipon, ididiskless ko na..Maraming salamat po!

Hintay ka na lang sa mga masters na pwede mag-suggest.

By the way, there is no such thing as switch hub. It is either a switch or a hub. Switch works at Layer 2 of OSI model such that it has a bit smart built into it such as MAC recording, full-duplex and separates collision domain for each port. Whereas the hub, works at Layer 1 and essentially is just a glorified cable which works in a bus-mode (ie simplex).

That is why hub is less efficient and least preferred over the switch. In a LAN segment, only 1 station can either send or receive at a time. In switch, any station can send or receive at any time.

It's funny how ULOPIANS call a network switch to a "switch hub"

kapag maraming port ng rj45 hub talaga tawag kaya naging switch hub

kung isa lang port ay port lang ang tawag at hindi pwede maging switch hub
