Para sa Server:

Gamitn parin ang deepfreeze
Gumamit din ng partion ( C and D )
Gumamit din ng ativirus at anti-spyware

Drive C:
Lahat lahat ng installed program operating system , AV, application, games and etc. sa drive C at e-lock (booth frozen) ang drive C gamit ang deepfreeze upang hindi makaka pasok ang ano mang malwares and viruses sa drive C

Drive D:

Drive C:
Lahat lahat ng installed program operating system , application, client timer, games and etc. sa drive C e-lock (booth frozen) ang drive C gamit ang deepfreeze upang hindi makaka pasok ang ano mang malwares and viruses sa drive C

Drive D:

So ngayon pano ang pag patch?

Tandaan: huwag kalimutan e-lock (boot froze) at reset pag katapos mag patch at update!

Para sa Server:

Gamitn parin ang deepfreeze
Gumamit din ng partion ( C and D )
Gumamit din ng ativirus at anti-spyware

Drive C:
Lahat lahat ng installed program operating system , application, games and etc. sa drive C at e-lock (booth frozen) ang drive C gamit ang deepfreeze upang hindi makaka pasok ang ano mang malwares and viruses sa drive C

Drive D:

hehehe, masyado nyo pinahihirapan sarili nyo.

kaya nga importanteng naka off ang autoplay, para pag reboot mo, disabled na agad ang virus (kasi nga frozen ang system files mo). yung nasa unfrozen drive mo, "dormant" na yun after reboot, at madaling alisin. yung dormant virus na yan can be deleted manually, or simply scan off with your antivirus.

kung hindi disabled ang autoplay, aandar yung virus sa unfrozen drive mo kasi merong "autoplay.inf" sa root ng drive (which autoplay automatically executes as the drive goes online with the system). bale wala pag freeze mo ng system kasi infected pa din sya ulit after every reboot.

every step of my first post has a purpose. leave one out, and your system may be vulnerable or not at max efficiency. it's also designed for minimal need to unfreeze your system.

the only time you'll need to unfreeze is when an update requires you to reboot. that means the registry has to be updated as well. browsers will need to be unfrozen also for updates since most can't be installed in other partitions besides C drive. pero pwede nyo na isabay yun pag humingi ng reboot ang update ng antivirus ninyo. till then, you can simply ignore the browser updates. ^^

So many threads about solving this and that in ULOP caused by viruses and malwares, some people think operating a lanshop means you are normally going to have to contend with these problems daily.

17. Lock your system files by using Steadystate, Deepfreeze, Returnil, or other softwares.
Now that your Windows is safe from any changes, when infected, a simple restart will get rid of any running virus in your system. any virus residing in your unprotected partition can easily be deleted manually, or be scanned by your antivirus after rebooting.

**** practice viewing flash drives by right clicking Start, then select Explore. double clicking a folder will activate any autorun virus (even with autoplay disabled). Make it your shop's policy to have your customers surrender all flash drives for virus checking. With practice, it will only take you a few seconds.

Note: will edit this post later if i left anything out. suggestions are welcome.^^

Another very important program. For Microsoft Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 is SRP (Software Restriction Policy). Malwares (Malicious Softwares) can be prevented when it is properly configured. Some computer professionals don't know it. Actually my co-worker only told it to me.

I am glad because I was able to implement SRP on our network (Domain) and standalone computer.

Testing I did:
On my computer in the office and at home with SRP configured (enabled). I downloaded executable files (example, like installers: Mozilla Firefox or flash players). Tried to double-click it to install. Note: It did not run. That means any excutable file (*.msi or exe for example) can not run on the computer with Software Restriction Policies configured or enabled.

Advantage of SRP (Software Restriction Policies):
1. USB flash drive inserted on a computer with virus can not easily infect a computer.
2. Some computer users that will install a new software program or run an application. Will not be able to run or install them.
3. You can prevent piracy, because only the applications installed on the PC can be run by any user (with Users privilege or limited account). It is also possible that an administrator account will not be able to install new applications.
4. Minimizes the maintenance of each computer on the network, because no malware can infect the computers. It is an advantage to every computer administrators.

Note:
1. Install and update your anti virus regularly and secure your computer by using a firewall. To add security for each users and computers.

2. Once you want to add new applications on a computer with SRP configured. You need to disable it temporarily. To be able to install new applications. After the application is installed, just reconfigure SRP (enable it!).

Software Restriction Policies (SRP) is a very powerful tool to protect a computer and user against malwares.

Hope these helps.

By the way SRP (Software Restriction Policy) comes with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and XP Professional. It is not a third party program. So no need to download additional program. It is built-in. You only need to configure it. First by running secpol.msc.

8. On the same page, change your virtual memory to a definite value (depending on physical memory and hdd free space, i personally set mine either to 1000 or 2000mb)

set it at 1000mb or 2000mb (depending on your free space). it will come in handy when opening those heavy games. ^^

or Initial Size is 1000 at ang Maximum Size ay 2000
