TOPIC: Intel discontinues 2 Gen Core i5 and i7s

On September 25, 2012 Intel published several Product Change Notification (PCN) documents, advising their customers about upcoming discontinuation of Core i5 and i7 processors, and one Celeron SKU. Most of retired microprocessors are based on older Sandy Bridge microarchitecture , and they were introduced in the January - October 2011 time frame. These CPUs are Celeron G440, Core i5-2310, i5-2320, i5-2400, i5-2400S, i5-2405S, i5-2500, i5-2500K, i5-2500S, i5-2500T, Core i7-2600, i7-2600K, i7-2600S and i7-2700K . Additionally, Intel will discontinue one Ivy Bridge part, Core i5-3450 . The EOL date, or the last order date, for all aforementioned SKUs is March 29, 2013 . Boxed parts will be shipped while supplies last. The last shipment date of tray/OEM parts is September 27, 2013. Core i5-2400 and i7-2600 will still be offered as embedded products after the EOL date.

The latest discontinuation notices cover most of the second-generation Core i5 and i7 lineups. Taking into account that Intel previously published PCNs for GPU-less Core i5s and i5-2300, it's evident that all i5 and i7 Sandy Bridge products will be end-of-lifed before April 2013, that is before the launch of fourth-generation Haswell microprocessors.

havent tried the latest ivy bridge? musta kaya ang graphics performance ng mga pentium series nila? nakalagay dun sa specs intel HD lang, hindi HD 2500, i3 lang ang HD2500....

OT: october 1 na yata ang official release date ng desktop trinity? wala parin dito sa pinas....

Meron ako 8units g440 sa internet section it was 3x powerful than atom and 2x powerful than AMD E350...Best thing is it was just 18w on my watt meter test, mas mababa ng 3w kumpara sa intel atom 1.6ghz.

kala ko kasi subrang bagal nyang 440...

Full power na yun sir, idle nya 16w, im using true rated 300w psu kasi kaya mas efficient, sa test ko kasi kapag generic psu gamit mas mataas ng 1.5-2w.

Specs:
G440+ GA H61M-DS2 +2G ddr3 +Diskless

Mura lang kuha ko p1650 for GPU, P1950 for the Mobo = P3600 , Hamak na mas mura kumpara sa atom at e350.

Kung for internet use/typing lang mabilis na ito

Mas mabagal lang sya sa 3D/graphics kumpara sa E350, Pero for internet use i dont need any Graphic applications.

Kagandahan dito you can use any Mobo and you could replace the processor/mobo, unlike atom and e350 that could die both.

Edit: hindi pala sya 3x powerful than atom sa reviews, i just feel that way, mas responsive lang kasi sya pagdating sa office applications.
