In case you replace your hard drive with bigger one your virtual hard drive will not expand. In order for you to transfer all your cache contents and your existing pfsense configuration you need to clone your existing virtual drive into a new a much larger virtual disk located in your new hard drive.

use the df -h command to calculate the available space and the use space in the new hard drive also increase your hard-disk cache size in your proxy server settings.
