Sa pagdi-diagnose po ng issue, it is very helpful if you can provide as much information as possible such as network diagram, output of ipconfig, ping, traceroute attempts on affected machines, OS, failing applications (and their known ports), and equally important are logs if at all possible. Kasali din ang steps you have done so far.
Without those, all we can do is provide educated guesses.
Dahil po hindi ako PanCafe user, I do not have its specifics. Ang kaya ko ibigay ay generic troubleshooting steps. Here's how it goes:
- rule out physical factor such as bad/disconnected cable, switch etc.
- IP addresses and subnet mask of affected machines. People always forgot to consider the subnet mask, kaya I always assume that if is 192.168.x.x it is on /24 or 255.255.255.0. Pero it does not have to be /24.
- check ARP entries.
- ping each other. For more systematic troubleshooting, install Wireshark on 1 or both of the machines, while trying to ping each other.
- ping from other machine.
Once you have established connectivity between your client and server machines, albeit unable to connect to PanCafe. Move on to steps below:
- check Access Policy of PanCafe. Perhaps it is not accepting connections from certain IPs, or not configured yet.
- find the port used by your application (PanCafe), then try to telnet to it. For more complete picture, use nmap. That tool should be part of your repertoire.
- again, all this steps must be done while Wireshark is running in the background.
Hope this helps.
