Simplified in two easy steps:

(1) Install the following packages:
sudo apt-get install samba libpam-smbpass
(2) Add your username to the sambashare group:
sudo adduser username sambashare
Replace username with your login name.

Yun lang. Kung gusto mong i-share ang folder sa network, right-click ang folder sa Nautilus > Sharing options > put checkmarks on all three boxes > Create share > Add the permissions automatically.

To access the files from another *nix machine, just open Nautilus and in the location bar (press mo ang Ctrl+L kung breadcrumbs ang nakikita mo at papalitan niya ng Location bar) enter:
smb://computer-name/shared-folder-name
computer-name = name of the remote computer. Dagdagin ang ".local" after the computer name. Halimbawa, pc01.local.

smb://pc01.local/Documents
smb://192.168.254.51/Documents
Parehas lang ang resulta sa above examples.
