TOPIC: What's your Favorite Linux Distro and Why?

sa mga nakapagtried and explored na ng Linux OS sa pc,vmware, virtual box o kung anong way para maparun yung Linux OS. Anong Distro ang pinakagusto nyo at bakit nyo po ito nagustuhan?

Linux Lite



ito po gamit ko ngayon kasi lightweight sya using XFCE, may 32bit at 64bit support. sa 32bit may PAE support na sya.

ito pala desktop ko(nakavmware),installed also with wine and skype, yung theme binago ko sa gusto ko, dito ako kumuha: XFCE Look :

2. Huge and active forum
3. Preferred base of other distros

Why Unity DE?

1. Ideal for widescreen displays
2. Nagsawa na ako sa traditional na interface (taskbar-based GUIs)
3. HUD FTW !

thanks sa share sir. advantage talaga pag may huge community o forum lalo na kung may mga problema ka sa paggamit nito at mga latest updates na share ng mga users din.

Yung latest version sa ngayon ay 13.10. Yung 12.04.4 ay ang latest snapshot ng LTS version.

I prefer LTS, kasi I'm after stability and the longer support. Kaya every 2 years lang ago nag-uupgrade. The interim (non-LTS) versions are ok too, lalo na kung gusto mo ng "latest and greatest" o kaya yung bagong version may features and fixes na wala sa lumang version. But not for me.

While it's true that it only takes about 15 minutes to install Ubuntu on decent hardware and be able to use it OOTB after rebooting (internet, office, music, video, etc), hindi ko gusto yung twice a year nagrere-setup ako. Atsaka para sa akin, beta versions papuntang LTS ang mga interim releases nila.

Tutal, kung gusto kong updated mga apps na ginagamit ko, malamang may PPA na available.
